I'd like to comment that a lot of us don't care if HA wait times are increased since that would be better than no HA at all (I got bored of it around the same time LR fell apart and haven't really done any since then due to the state HA is in. It would be easier with a guild, granted, but all I see is the "must be r9+" sort of bullshit.). So anyways, yeh, it's a meaningless complaint. I look forward to the fresh start that Gw2 will bring.

I'd gladly sign the removal of all titles for the game. (If that required a rollback to 2005 and the removal of factions and nightfall, then as much as I love Factions, I'd still agree to it if it would remove titles.)

While in the past I have supported similar ideas, after thinking about it, I don't see how breaking the playerbase up is going to help in this situation. Nor do I see much good in sticking newbies who have n00bs to teach them. Likewise rolling a bad team isn't much of a learning experience like losing to a good team and learning from it.

I would agree with the basic idea of a two tiered HA system under the following circumstances...
Tier 1: Anyone of any rank can choose to enter here. Think of it as a practice tier. This is where people can learn 8 v 8 tactics, practice on HA maps, etc. Balth faction can be earned here as well in order to unlock skills for eventual graduation to Tier 2. Tier 1 should not award fame points.
Tier 2: HA as it is now.
I know that getting into a team can be difficult if you are not already ranked but that can be addressed through social networking (friends list FTW). In my opinion the real concern is the inability of either PUG teams or inexperienced guild/alliance teams to gain any significant experience in HA because they are so readily steamrolled very early on in their attempts.
Solving the problem of gaining experience in HA by cheapening the titles that some have worked so hard to get is not the answer. If you change things so that HA is easier then the value of its rewards are very much reduced. I am primarily a PVE player (only R4 fame) but am very proud of every single fame point that I have earned. I would be much less so were my fame earned with training wheels.
I believe that giving people with aspirations of HA greatness a venue in which to practice and learn would offer the inexperienced a chance at developing the skills needed to improve their play enough to be competitive in true HA.
As regards to all of the comments about people not learning at all from facing opponents of equal experience: I believe that you underestimate human competitive nature. Someone who wants to win will think and work at beating their foes. Their tactics, builds, etc will evolve. Others will react to that evolution by evolving their tactics as well. Soon enough those people will take the next logical step and will seek out greater challenges. But they have to start somewhere and the current system discourages new people from giving HA a serious effort.
All in all I would rather have the current system in which I have difficulty getting into a group because I am not R6+ than a system where my achievements mean less.

If this happened and I was still unranked, I would avoid HA even more than I already do.
Instead of learning to play you'll be getting frustrated by those shitty gimmicks taking you out over and over because you're bad and want to learn.

Aye, the best thing for a new player is to play with better players so he can learn the game. Segregating the players won't help that.

Watch and learn for newcomers to HA is important, just not to write down skills used by leet players, but just to see how they are used, what kind of team you will fight against. This helps a lot imo
And about the fact you will get steamrolled, it always happens even for decent groups, HA is a competitive mode, don't forget it.
And yes, newcomers might (they surely will...) be afraid of this, but if they bypass this, they will learn, and improve their gaming...
It's like everything : training and perseverance, and again training... Don't even expect winning within your first runs ~~

Good idea. I am a n00b at HA and hate it when I fight higher level people who kick my arsenal in one hit.
